Non Partisan races:
Rodriguez to run for magistrate judge
From Staff Reports
Dalton Daily Citizen
Bob Rodriguez, a probation officer with Alternative Probation
Services, says he plans to run for Whitfield County magistrate judge.
Qualifying begins on June 23.
Rodriguez did not say which of the four magistrate judge
positions he will run for, although he said he has decided on one.
Rodriguez came to the Dalton area in 1999 from Conyers
to work as a probation officer for BI Probation Services. He began
working for Alternative Probation Services in 2001 and is now senior
probation officer and operations manager.
Rodriguez served 11 years in the U.S. Air Force and one
year in the Air National Guard at Dobbins Air Force Base in Marietta.
He recently graduated from the paralegal program at Dalton State
College and has a paralegal certificate. He has a bachelor’s
degree from the University of Maryland.
He said his goals for the position are to improve teamwork
and communication; create a court Web site; improve training; and
to maintain the highest standards of excellence.
“If elected, I promise to follow the law, be fair
and impartial, and perform all the duties and responsibilities of
the office in a professional manner,” he said.
